Celebrating 25 years of bringing hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois is the region’s largest and most well-known wish granting organization. Since 1985, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois has granted more than 10,000 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions with the help of more than 1,400 dedicated volunteers and support from individuals, corporations, community groups and foundations.

Dylan is a determined teenager who loves the outdoors and the Lord of the Rings. Dylan's wish granting volunteers worked with him to combine his love for the wilderness and adventure travel to plan a once in a lifetime trip to the North Island of New Zealand. Dylan and his family visited the Hobbiton Movie Set where the Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit films were created.
