Family Openhouse Showcases Red Cross Preparedness
Event details:
Place: Menold Construction and Restoration located at 880 W. Jefferson St. in Morton, IL
Date/Time: 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 6, 2011
Tornado, tsunami, fire or alien attack... Be prepared for anything with the Red Cross! Disasters can strike anytime, anywhere without warning… and no one knows this better than Menold Construction and Restoration and the American Red Cross. In some situations, disasters can be avoided, so these two organizations are partnering to bring a unique open house to central Illinois.
“This free event is targeted at families. Children and parents will be able to learn together about safety and preparedness through interactive, fun activities,” says Tom Menold, president of Menold Construction. “We are very excited to sponsor this event with the Red Cross and bring this lifesaving information to our community.”
The event will feature:
Free food - Pulled pork and hot dogs
Central Illinois Fire Safety House tours simulate for kids what a real fire is like
CPR/AED demonstration by local EMTs
Morton Police Department will be on scene to give sobriety tests to participants wearing fatal vision goggles
OSF St. Francis Life Flight helicopter
Illinois State Police will recreate a rollover car crash with the "Rollover" simulator
Henry's Kitchen and the Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle will be on site for tours! (disaster permitting)
Red Cross hygiene education games for kids
Games and Red Cross puppet shows for the kids
